How to get to Inchigeelagh

Inchigeelagh is situated in the Barony of Muskerry in the heart of county Cork down the south-west of Ireland in the famous province of Munster. It sits among the rugged hills of the Lee valley. The alpine-like Shehy Mountains (1900 ft/600m) and the Derrynasaggart Mountains (1600 ft/500m) dominate the vistas on either bank of the river, as it flows from meandering lake to fast flowing weirs, before entering the sea at Cork city. Indeed on a clear day you can see from the top of Shehy 40 miles straight to Cork city. It is often remarked that it is the best vista in Ireland. Inchigeelagh is centrally positioned for touring the scenic southwest with virtually all the major attractions lying within 1 hour's drive. They include:

Cork City, Bantry, Ring of Kerry, Clonakilty, Blarney, Glengariff, Schull, Crosshaven, Kinsale, Kenmare, Millstreet, Skibbereen, Cobh, Gougane Barra, Killarney
