Loch Allua and Lee River system
The Inchieelgagh section of the river Lee is a renowned Course Fishing centre.
Waiting to be caught are Pike, Perch, Eel and Roach. The Trout farm for
the Munster fishing
areas are reared on Loch Allua, though to get the brown trout
you need to seek out the many river holes and weirs on either side of the lake system.

Walking - An bhfuilimid ann fós!
There is no book on walking in Ireland that does not mention the Lee Valley
as an idyllic walking area. With 12000 acres of forest, a criss cross of rivers and lakes all surrounded
by wall of challenging but "do-able" hills and mountains, it is the perfect terrain for all outdoor sports. None more so than
walking.
Maps and signposts are available from the village.
Inchieelagh is part of the Cork Beara Way route, as well as the ancient
but unused St Finbarr's way.

Orienteering - Táim Caillte !
Iveleary is regularly used by Orienteering organisations from both home and abroad
It has held the Irish Chamopinships, University Championships and
local munster association events
which have drawn international competitors.
The terrain described over for walking make it ideal
for this sport.

Gougane Barra
Oratory and National Park
The name derives from St. Finbarr, who had a Monastery on the Holy Island in the 6th Century. The Park comprises 142 forested hectares, with a motor trail and signposted paths and Nature Trails including 'Slí Easa' (The Way of the Waterfall) with magnificent views of the entire glen and the enclosing mountain wall.

A place of pilgrimage and prayer for generations. St. Gobnait, the patron saint of Baile Mhúirne, built her Church here. Stories of her feats abound, from the Nine White Deer to trained bees.
Mass is celebrated here on her Feast Day, 11th February.
